Listen to Iditarod’s Hobo Jim Sing the ‘Iditarod Trail Song’

Each year, ‘The Iditarod Trail Song’ is sung in classrooms around the world.

Watch this performance and listen to students in Maryland sing this song at their school program.  2018 – Spring  (with Hobo Jim granting permission)

Here’s the words to the chant that the students recite prior to singing.

  • In the land of the midnight sun, there’s a dog race to be run
  • In the land of the midnight sun, there’s a dog race to be run
  • From the land of moose and beaver, we have caught Iditarod Fever
  • From the land of moose and beaver, we have caught Iditarod Fever
  • And the only prescription is…more cowbell.
