It’s Sunday in Nome Alaska, and you can already feel the synergy of what has turned out to be a nail biter of a race. Folks from all over the world are arriving to get a glimpse of what is shaping up to be a phenomenal finish. The Nome Mini Convention Center, temporary Headquarters for The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, is bustling with visitors who are full of excitement.
The Iditarod Trail Merchandise Store in the “Mini” is a gathering place for visitors and volunteers. It’s a place where connoisseurs of the “Last Great Race” share prognostications and race “newbies” listen intently. It doesn’t get any better than this!
