Dallas Seavey, who has been lurking in the shadows and creating his monster, trailed Aaron Burmeister for a long run from Shaktoolik to Koyuk. He made up more than an hour and 20 minutes of 45 miles. That is huge. His team looked excellent when he came into the checkpoint. You could tell that Dallas really raced Aaron into here. That is a big mental blow to Aaron, the mind games are on. Both teams will have to rest here.

The big difference is: Aaron hast a 15 plus hour run all the way from Unalakleet. That will require a longer rest than Dallas’s 7.5 hour run from Shaktoolik. Dallas got 4.5 hrs of rest in Shaktoolik, which is a significant amount of rest at this point in the game.
