Sonny Lindner and Ken Anderson into Anvik

It is still raining in Anvik. Passing me on the River, seeing the white Insider Windbreaker, Sonny iquired: ” Are these waterproof?” Kind of , was my anwer. Sonny sure looked soaked in this down coat.  The run from Shageluk takes about 3.5 hrs, and in this case Sonny has put on a fast run passing Ken Anderson. While Sonny was just sitting on his sled, enduring the rain, Ken was working with a skipole in his typical fashion. With both being on a  nice daytime schedule, I am sure both will pull over for a good rest here in Anvik. Well, so much for that, Sonny went through. And he is really moving. Despite the warm temperatures, the trail is really nicely set up and hard packed. The teams are sure making fast runtimes. Sonny is currently moving at 9.3 mph, Martin is moving at 8.6 mph and Jake, who almost now make it to Grayling is also speeding along at 9.2 mph. It helps that they have a tail wind and also, that the rain cools down the dogs.
