The 43 year old rookie musher from Chugiak Alaska left Elim on Friday March 14th at 10:10 pm. He finally made his way to Golovin staying there until he decided to scratch. Suprenant cited concerns over his team’s well being as his reason for scratching. Because Elim is the last checkpoint that Suprenant left, his scratch is posted in Elim at the time he left there; March 14, 2008 at 10:10 pm. He had 9 dogs on his team when he made the decision to scratch.
