Greta Smith, 23, has been mushing since she was four years old. When a student at Chugiak High School, she ran the Jr. Iditarod. She says she became interested in running the Iditarod when she “saw the joy on my dads face at the start of his first Iditarod.” Greta currently works as a mushing guide. She’s helped many mushers in their training and at the start of the Iditarod and “now it’s my turn.” Greta has run several mid distance races. She is a member of the Two Rivers Dog Mushing Association and the Chugiak Mushers Association. She lists her hobbies and interests as mushing, fishing, hunting and hiking.
