Biography

Becca Ross, 27, was born in Massachusetts. She was raised in Nantucket and received her engineering degree from Tufts University. She began mushing dogs about 8 years ago and moved to Alaska four years ago “to run dogs. Why run dogs anywhere else?”, asks Becca. She says she’s mushing her dogs in the Iditarod to further her knowledge of dog care and to spend with “my family.” “My dogs are a wide variety and have proven themselves time and time again. I look forward to competing in Iditarod for years to come.” Becca is engaged to Iditarod veteran, Matt Calore. She says she enjoys four-wheeling, hunting, “mushing, mushing, and mushing.”
