2016 Iditarod XLIV Media Registration Form

Thank you for your interest in covering Iditarod XLIV as a member of the working media. “Working Media” is defined as full-time paid employees or representatives/agents of professional recognized media organizations including but not limited to: newspapers, magazines, major wire services, television stations, website and other approved online mediums.

Please read the 2016 Media Guide and the 2016 Media Credential Guidelines to be sure that you are eligible before applying.

To apply for credentials, the assigning editor/producer must fill out the following online application form.

Please do not submit multiple requests. If you are uncertain a request has been submitted please contact the Media Coordinator listed below. If you are a freelance journalist, you must be on assignment from a media outlet. A freelance journalist/photographer cannot request accreditation on behalf of another organization. Photographers must also be on assignment. Specialty photography, portfolio photography, and personal website photography are NOT valid assignments. If you are not the assigning editor/producer, or are a freelance journalist or photographer, please forward this form to the appropriate person to be completed.

Requests for accreditation will only be considered if submitted via this official online process with the online application form completed accordingly. Application requests sent by email will not be accepted. Walk-in requests will also not be accepted.

ONLY working media on assignment will be considered for credentials.

The deadline for application is Feb. 19, 2016. You will be notified of acceptance/denial within 14 days of applying for credentials.

Questions listed are to help understand the economic impact that the Iditarod, "The Last Great Race", is having on the State of Alaska.

  1. What is your total budget for covering the Iditarod? Please consider the following: transportation, car rental, equipment rental, hotel, meals, spending money, banquet tickets and any other relevant expenditures.
  2. While you are covering the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race are there any other stories or events you plan to cover? If so, what?

By submitting this online application I understand that I am ONLY applying for media credentials for the 2016 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and that my application can be denied based on information or a lack of information provided.

I also agree that by submitting this application I will abide by the rules and guidelines for media established by the Iditarod Trail Committee. I further understand that my failure to do so will result in the revocation of media credentials.
