Welcome to the Education Portal!

We’re heading out on the trail to help you lead your students to academic success!  We want you and your students to join us for the Last Great Teaching Race!

This section of Iditarod’s website provides educators and families with the tools needed to develop the best practices of teaching and learning to guide students along the journey to academic success while following the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race®.

Use the menu on the left side of the page to sort through lesson ideas and connect with our projects.  Our lessons are arranged by content area.  Click the area (math, science, etc.) and click on lesson topics that interest you and meet the standards you are teaching.

This website is designed by teachers for teachers. Lessons, activities, and projects are aligned to national standards or Common Core, and with best practices of teaching and learning taken into consideration.

We look forward to your contributing to the site by sharing your  ideas and lessons. Please share.  Email us!

So what are you waiting for, friends? Get started exploring by using the menu on the left side of this page to help you find the lessons or information that you need!  Don’t forget to visit other sections of our site, like Zuma’s Paw Prints where you will find  messages from our K9 Journalist team,  and the Iditarod Teacher on the Trail™ website.

See you on the learning trail!
