Beautiful morning in Takotna

It’s lightly snowing in Takotna again this morning. Mushers have been pulling out all night coming off of their 24 hour rests and hitting the trail once again. Dogs have looked great pulling out of here, everybody’s been happy and ready to go!

Now the real race begins, with the lead mushers all coming off of their 24 hour rests and playing out the rest of their race strategies – the mushers to watch in my opinion are Joar Leifseth Ulsom (obivously, being last year’s champion), Jessie Royer whose team looked amazing pulling out of Takotna, and Nic Petit who roared through Takotna on his way to Ophir to take his 24. We’ll see how it plays out from here!
