The last two mushers left Unalakleet just after 9am this morning, headed to Shaktoolik! Cindy Gallea and Jeremy Keller are upbeat and ready to cross that finish line in Nome. They headed out into a beautiful sunrise, they’ll have amazing views of the coast from the Blueberry Hills on their way to Shaktoolik this morning. This run has some of the most beautiful scenery from the coast, as you climb into the hills you feel like you can see the edge of the world, and after dropping out of the hills it’s a huge relief to arrive in Shaktoolik and take a rest before crossing Norton Sound to Koyuk. Just under 300 miles to Nome!
