Digital’s DECtalk Hotline was used from the mid 70’s through the mid 80’s. Race fans could dial the DECtalk hotline, enter a one-digit number, and listen to a prerecorded message: Race Summary, Checkpoint Summary, Musher Summary or additional information that was available.
HAM Radio played an important part of the early years of the race as a way to relay information about what was happening in the race. We are grateful to the Anchorage Amateur Radio Club for sharing these memories with us!
