With this being the second full day of the race, dogs lined out behind the Millennium Hotel were dropped at Rainy Pass. The dogs had window seats with the Iditarod Air Force for the flight in. Sled dogs take to flying almost as naturally as pulling a sled. They relax, take a little nap and soon enough the skies of the Cessna hit the ground and they’re off loaded. Volunteers, veterinarians and vet techs work the dropped dog line to make sure every need of the individual dog is meet. Walk out to the line near the shore of Lake any time of the day and the dogs are receiving a ton of love and attention. On this particular day they are soaking up some rays and enjoying the sunshine just as much as the love ups.
