This harness reminds me of my favorite very old flannel shirt. I’ve got pretty new shirts but they hang in the closet as I prefer the well worn old one that’s a little ragged but soft and fits perfect. Seems this dog may feel that same way about his harness.
Good Morning Boys and Girls, I bet you just couldn’t wait to get up and check to see how the race was going. I know you’ve heard me say before that we won’t know the true leaders until after the 24 hour mandatory rest. Are you wondering what I’m talking about? Well, I want you …
Dear Teachers, The race is on!! How many of you have watched the re-start of the 2016 Iditarod Dog Sled Race? Did you see those happy dogs ready to run from Willow to Nome? Many had their booties on, a few with T-shirts, and one team’s lead dogs even donned their goggles! It was amazing …
Libby Here! I am sure by now you have heard that once mushers left Willow, they travel from checkpoint to checkpoint until they reach the city of Nome. What’s a checkpoint? Checkpoints are places where mushers have to check in and sign their name to show they ‘checked in’ to each spot along the trail. …
Hello Boys and Girls, Wow! The race is flying by so fast that before we know it, the mushers will be in Nome. The teams are flying down the trail on a lightening pace. Don’t you agree? I have a few ideas about which team of my fur friends might get to Nome and be …
Busy, Busy, Busy at McGrath. One team checking in while another team approaches on the frozen river. There’ll be plenty more action as the night wears on. Noah Burmeister was the sixth musher to bring his huskies into the checkpoint. His dogs are all eyes!
Skies in McGrath were beautiful today – pristine white clouds and brilliant blue sky. There are a few dropped dogs from Rohn but no mushers. The first will arrive in less that a half hour. Guessing it’ll be Dallas Seavey and he’ll continue on to Takotna. This shot really has nothing to do with the …
Hi Boys and Girls, Are you enjoying the race? The teams are progressing nicely down the trail. There have been a few lead changes. Just remember that we won’t know anyone’s true position until after everyone has completed their 24 hour mandatory rest? That’s when the start differential is figured in. Don’t know what that …
Hey Boys and Girls, Sorry for the lack of posts the past 2 days. I’ve been on my 1000 mile journey to my new home. In my 1000 miles, we drove through 13 states (From NH to GA- can you figure out what 13 states I went through?) and made the trip in two days …
Dropped dogs have been coming into Anchorage. Be assured they are getting lots of love and attention while they await a ride back to their kennel.
