Sometimes when mushers reach a checkpoint, they take a few minutes break so the veterinarians can quickly examine the team and fresh supplies can be picked up and taken with along the race trail.
But when the mushers arrive in White Mountain, every musher will need to take an 8 hour rest.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll be spinning with excitement when that happens.
The mushers will leave White Mountain after the 8 hour rest in the order they arrived.
The first to Nome will be the winner of the 2013 Iditarod.
