Paws Along the Trail with Geometry

I have had so much fun taking photos along the Iditarod Trail! Here are some images for geometry practice.

: What is the shape of the dog dish? If the diameter is 15 cm, what is the radius?

: Which piece of runner plastic is a polygon? What are the attributes of a polygon?

: What is the shape of this spreader at the end of the harness? What are the three angles shown?

: What polygon is the outlined plastic shape on this sled?

: Can you name all the types of angles you see on this dog harness? How many did you find?

: Name the angles on the metal bars of the sled.

As you examine these photographs, perhaps you’ll see some additional geometric shapes and interesting aspects of the Iditarod!
