Hi Boys and Girls,
It’s been a busy first day for the Iditarod. Martin Buser has taken and early lead. They are a lot of guesses on what his race plan is. What do you think? Today’s picture by Jeff Schultz is from Finger Lake. I hope you are enjoying the pictures. I sure am.
Now for today’s update:
DATE: March 4, 2013
TIME: 14:14
LEADERS: 1. Martin Buser, 2. Matt Failor, 3. Jason Mackey, 4. Jessie Royer, 5. Aily Zirkle.
Martin is at the checkpoint in Rohn and appears to be resting. Matt, Jason and Jessie have left Rainy Pass and Aily is in Rainy Pass
WHERE ARE THE MUSHERS: The leaders are in Rohn, on the way to Rohn and in Rainy Pass. There are 20 other mushers in Rainy Pass and most look like they are resting, 23 mushers are on the trail between Finger Lake and Rainy Pass, 11 mushers are in Finger Lake, and the last 4 mushers are between Skwenta and Finger Lake.
WEATHER: The weather between all the checkpoints right now is 35 and fair.
SCRATCHED: No one
Answer to Yesterday’s Question: I asked if it was it was 1:46 am in Alaska, what time is it where you live. The world is divided up into time zones. The United States is divided into 6 different time zones. When it is 1:46 am in Alaska, it’s 2:46 am on the Pacific coast, it’s 3:46 am in the Western mountain area of the US, 4:46am in the mid section and 5:46am in the Eastern states. As for Hawaii, it would be 12:46 am. So what time would it be where you live?
QUESTION OF THE DAY: The time of tonight’s update is 14:14. What kind of time is that, and what time is it?
It’s an interesting race so far. But remember it is very early in the race and anything can happen. Hope you are enjoying following your musher.
Until tomorrow,
Gypsy
