The race started almost 24 hours ago.  The mushers are more spread out this year at this time than usual.  It’s going to be an interesting race!

 WHERE ARE THE MUSHERS: Kelly is into Rohn.  Nicholas, Martin, Michael, and Paul are all out of Rainy Pass and headed to Rohn

 RED LANTERN POSITION: Cindy Gallea is still in Skwentna

 WEATHER:   The weather from Yetna to Rohn is 26 degrees and fair.

 SCRATCHED: No one

 QUESTION OF THE DAY: Kelly Maxiner is currently racing in first place.  But he may not really be in first place- Why not?  Answer tomorrow morning.

 Answer to this mornings question: Did you see what time this update was written?  What time is 00:51. 

The Iditarod using 24 hour time commonly called Military time.  This time is used when it is important to know when it is morning or night.  If I told you a musher came in at 8:00, you wouldn’t know if that was am or pm unless I remember to tell you.  With 24 time there is no question about what time it is.  00:00-12:00 is am and 12:01-24:00 is pm.  So 00:51 is 12:51 in the morning.  Maybe your teacher or parent can help you make a time chart.
