Well it’s Friday.  Are you ready for the weekend?  I wish you all a restful weekend.  I hope you are able to follow the race at home. It’s getting exciting!!!!

WHERE ARE THE MUSHERS:  Martin, Sonny and Aliy are out of Galena, Aaron, Robert and 4 other teams are in Galena, 8 teams are out of Ruby, 10 teams are in Ruby, 14 teams are out of Cripple, 5 teams are in Cripple. 5 teams are in Ophir. The next 5 teams have left Ophir. 5 teams are in Ophir.

RED LANTERN POSITION:  Marcelle Fressineau who is in Ophir.

WEATHER:   The weather in Galena is 9 degrees and fair. The weather in Cripple and Ruby is 13 degrees and fair. The weather in Ophir is 16 degrees and fair.

SCRATCHED: Ramey Smyth scratched in Ruby.  Ramey indicated that he has an illness in his team and was concerned for the welfare of his dogs.

AWARD: First to Galena- Bristol Bay Native Corporation Fish First Award- Given to Aliy Zirkle.  Aliy will receive a check for $1000, 25 pounds of Bristol Bay Salmon and a commemorative jacket.  She will also receive a supply of canned and smoked salmon to take with her on the trail.  I bet she shares with her dogs.  I sure wish I was on her team- I love salmon!
