The Alaska Commission Postsecondary Education partners for Iditarod 52

The Iditarod announced today that the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) will be a partner for the 2024 world-famous Iditarod, with support from the University of Alaska, the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development, and the Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development. ACPE provides education and career funding solutions. These solutions bring awareness and access to education and career training programs for Alaskans to pursue after high school. A better-educated workforce provides a stronger Alaska economy, benefitting all Alaskans.

“We are thrilled to see this partnership come together between these organizations and the Iditarod. Just as the Iditarod spans many miles across Alaska, so too does the reach and impact of FAFSA completion. With the inspirational spirit of the Iditarod, we believe this partnership will inspire Alaska’s students to move forward with their education and career goals by taking that first step to complete the FAFSA which opens the door for funding opportunities,” says Sana Efird, Executive Director, Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education.

“As the Iditarod is synonymous with community, ingenuity, and self-improvement ACPE’s mission is not only inspiring but also extremely consistent with our ethos. Just as the Iditarod is life changing, ACPE’s support can be highly transformative and we are thrilled to be able to help generate awareness for educational funding opportunities in general and specifically for the FAFSA program,” says Rob Urbach, CEO of the Iditarod.

The Ceremonial Start of the Iditarod will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, in downtown Anchorage and ACPE will be there to share more information with Iditarod Fans. Race-goers are encouraged to come and support the sponsors, the history, culture and the teams on their journey to Nome.
