The Iditarod continues to track any leads regarding the location of Leon. As of April 9th, residents of Nikolai believe there have been recent sightings of dog tracks between Nikolai and Salmon River, which is on the trail to Rohn and searchers in the area continue to follow those reports.  They believe it’s possible that Leon is by the McGrath cutoff which is approximately 11 miles out of Nikolai towards Rohn.  Two game cameras were set out where the dog tracks have been seen in the last week.  While there is no confirmation that these are Leons tracks we are hopeful that he is in the area.   The Iditarod is providing updates to musher Sebastien Dos Santos Borges as they arise and we continue to be in touch with community members who are still aiding in the search.
