Veteran Iditarod musher Cindy Gallea scratches at Skwentna checkpoint

Veteran Iditarod musher Cindy Gallea (bib #46), of Wykoff, Minnesota, scratched at 5:33 a.m. today at the Skwentna checkpoint.

Gallea became ill (non-COVID-19-related) and made the decision to scratch in the best interest of her race team.

Gallea had 14 dogs in harness at the time she made the decision to scratch.
