Iditarod 2023 Welcomes Another Musher to the Field!

The Iditarod welcomed back a long-time competitor to the 2023 Race earlier this week, Veteran Musher, Wade Marrs. Marrs was born and raised in the Knik area outside of Wasilla, Alaska but recently moved to Solon Springs, Wisconsin. Wade has served on the Iditarod’s Board of Directors, the Iditarod Official Finishers Club as president and the Iditarod Rules Committee and has competed in 11 Iditarods, placing in the Top 10 four times.

The Iditarod Trail Committee looks forward to welcoming more veterans and rookies to compete in the 51st version of The Last Great Race on Earth®. All mushers that apply to compete in the Iditarod must first go through the qualifying review board before their entry is officially accepted for the Race. Stay tuned as our competitive field continues to grow until the close of registration on November 30, 2022.
