Rookie Iditarod musher, Jenny Roddewig (bib #10), of Fairbanks, Alaska scratched at 5:50 a.m. today at the White Mountain checkpoint in the best interest of her team. Roddewig had 10 dogs in harness when she arrived in White Mountain, all in good health.
Jenny has been a great competitor in this race, completing 1,057 of the 1,128 miles of trail. We hope to see her on the Iditarod Trail in 2026.
With this scratch in the race, Ebbe Pedersen, bib #5, is now the recipeient of the Lynden “Committed to the Last Mile” Red Lantern award. A presentation and photos will take place later today.
