For the first time ever, the Hungarian flag will be displayed at the Iditarod start and finish to welcome Otto Balogh of Budapest, Hungry to Iditarod. Balogh is one of many who have found their way to mushing and the Iditarod through reading Jack London. Traveling has been as much of a childhood dream for Balogh as racing in the Iditarod.
Balogh is a successful businessman in Budapest with a career as a network marketing sales leader, motivational speaker, development training, executive coaching and also a bestseller writer. After a decade of running his own business and reaching the age of forty, Otto felt that the “now or never” moment had arrived to realize his dream of crossing Alaska by dog team.
Otto has been training with 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. Balogh has completed his qualifiers with and will be standing on the runners behind Seavey’s “B” team for the race. In his spare time, Balogh enjoys fishing, playing soccer, reading and studying astrology.
Good luck on the trail Otto as you realize your childhood dream of traversing the great land of the north by dog power.
