Charley Benja Scratches Between Unalakleet and Shaktoolik

CHARLEY BEJNA SCRATCHES BETWEEN UNALAKLEET AND SHAKTOOLIK

Nome, Alaska – Wednesday, March 13, 2013 – Rookie Iditarod musher Charley Bejna (Bib# 15) of Addison, Illinois scratched between Unalakleet and Shaktoolik at 15:15. Bejna made the decision to scratch for the best interest of his team. He had 7 dogs in his team.

Charley and his team will be transported to Shaktoolik with local support from the community. Both musher and dogs are fine.
