Ed Hopkins’ team looked good leaving Takotna. It was obvious that his black leader was focused on Michelle Phillips (his partner, who was trying to hide from the dog), but they left the checkpoint looking beautiful! He’s definitely in contention for rookie of the year, but Richie Beattie is putting up a good challenge as well.

Alison Lifka is in good spirits. She’s staying here for her 24 hour rest, and looking forward to sleeping and eating herself, after she feeds and rests her team. She reports that the trail from McGrath was bumpy, so she felt like her dogs weren’t moving really well. They looked great pulling in here in my opinion. They’re resting comfortably, enjoying their 24 hour rest!
