The checkpoint was filled with spectators as the mushers came off the Kaltag Trail.  Nic Petit, shared the checkpoint briefly with Joar Leifseth Ulsom and Mitch Seavey.  After a 5.5 hour rest, Petit headed to Shaktoolik.  Joar Rested just an hour and forty-two minutes and followed Nic.  Mitch rested just over three hours before leaving UNK.  Travis Beals, the 4th musher to make the coast, arrived just prior to Mitch’s departure.  Beals was joined by Linwood Fiedler.  Richie Diehl, Peter Kaiser, Ray Redington Jr., Wade Marrs and Matthew Failor all left Kaltag between 07:29 and 07:54 this morning.  They’ll be arriving yet this evening and Aliy Zirkle is on the move from Old Woman Cabin.  Newly retired Iditarod veteran DeeDee Jonrowe is in Unalakleet.  The village is hosting a potluck of congratulations for DeeDee this evening.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  Enjoy these photos that tell today’s story from Unalakleet.
