The checkpoint is still fogged in. Official photo guy, Jeff Schultz is still in Kaltag. Photo Guy Mike Kenney is back in Huslia. I’m assuming Joe Runyan, Bruce Lee and the rest of the Insider Crew are grounded with Schultz in Kaltag. The teams are moving closer to the coast. It appears that Mitch is resting and that Wade Marrs is leading the charge to the Gold Coast.
Here are a few photos of what’s going on as folks anticipate the first musher arriving within the hour. When the first musher emerges from the fog, six or seven will follow close behind. The temperature sits right about twenty degrees so many spectators are just enjoying the wait out on the slough. Some skiers have gone up the trail to meet the mushers.
