And Brent is off Norton Sound and arrived safe and sound in Koyuk in 1st place. How does that slogan go again : WILD AND FREE BABY!!!  He got a great welcome from this wonderful community. As opposed to what Craig Medred ( some of you Alaskans might know what I refer to ) thinks, Iditraod is welcomed into the communities, as someone in Shaktoolik put it earlier: ” We are waiting all year for Iditarod to come to town.”

Brent’s team is parked nicely out of the wind, right below the village cemetery,  Here some pictures of his arrival, I hope you could see it live on the Insider Video Camera too! Brent got here with 13 dogs. That in itself is a great accomplishment, to be out front in the race AND driving a big team of dogs.
