Brent Sass is holding is own very well. He has taken up the Seavey’s challenge. When it comes to trail travel speed, he is traveling quite a bit slower than both of the Seavey’s. With Dallas Seavey not resting here, it is going to be hard to keep up that way, as further cutting rest is not possible. I doubt it very much, that Dallas will stop on the 46 miles to White Mountain.
Mitch Seavey came down the hill into town only a few minutes behind Brent. Elim often has a lot of people out, but with it being in the middle of the night, only a few hardy souls showed up. Both Mitch Seavey and Brent Sass got some water for their dogs and came inside the checkpoint building to fill their thermos with hot water too. There is a bit of difference, in the efficiency with which Dallas got things done here.
