The trail over from Finger Lake is excellent. Amazing how much work the trail crew has put into making it
passable. Where sidehill overflow would pitch the mushers into the willows, they built a huge berm, lining it with trees and plywood. Happy River itself has some open water which the crew built a nice wooden bridge over. The Steps are hard packed and do not have enough snow, for the usual trenches to build. Now do not get me wrong, the trail over is not easy. There are still plenty of tight corners, stumps lurking and it generally being a real bumpy ride, because it is so hard packed.
The only company I have right now is Martin Buser, whose team came in screaming and barking. Aliy is about to arrive, so I better head outside to take some pictures.
