The trail over from Takotna to Ophir is excellent. THe usual glaciers are behaving and do not pose much of a challenge. Martin was feeding his team and the vets examining the dogs. At the same time Nic Petit was getting patched up in the Cabin. Both Martin and Nic are still dealing with some aftermath of the burn. Nic and Joar Leifseth Ulsom were both taking their 24 hour layover, where Martin plans to stay about 5 hrs. A nice trail is waiting for him outside of Ophir again. I am about 5 miles out doing this upload. Enjoy the pictures, they are small, but better than none!
Race strategies are all over the place this year. 2 Teams took their 24 hr layover in Rohn, Martin and others in Nikolai,rather than the usual places of McGrath, Takotna and Ophir. Of the quintet now going to Cripple, time will tell if they actually all stop there. I would not be surprised if not. Hope I catch some along the way.
