Paul Gebhardt and Jason Campeau made it off the Yukon River. They seem glad to do so. Timing is good for them, especially for their dogs, The sun is up, and the dog lot is relatively out of the wind. This will be a good rest for them. Jason, who finished the Yukon Quest as a rookie last month, is now traveling in the Top 15 of Iditarod 43. Not bad for a rookie at all. With Jake Berkowitz, he has a good mentor and of course also the seasoned dog team Jake ran before in the races. Both the Quest and the Iditarod have been quite cold races.
Also worth noting, the teams which have now arrived here, have had the fastest traveling times . Pete Kaiser, Joar Leifseth Ulsom and also Jason Campeau had really fast times. All ran in a little over 6 hrs to here.
