Biography
Tim Osmar, 42, was born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. For the last 35 years, he's been a commercial fisherman and dog musher. He began mushing in 1979 when he was 12 years old and became interested in running the Iditarod by watching the Race. He ran the Jr. Iditarod four times and won it three times. He is also a Yukon Quest winner. He is a member of the P.R.I.D.E. and KPFA. In 2009, Tim will be running again with Rachael Scdoris. He and his wife, Tawny, have four children, Nicole, 20, David 18, Daniel, 15, and Merissa, 13. Tim says he has no time for hobbies.
