Ross Adam, 57, was born and raised in Grande Prairie. He says he's been a rancher "forever." He began mushing in 1994 after watching a sled dog race in 1993 and subsequently ran the Yukon Quest and three Iditarods, his last Iditarod being in 2000. Ross and his wife, Karen, have "a small herd of children ranging in ages from 19 to 33 and four grand children." His main hobby is horse polo.
