Robert Greger, 40, was born in New York and now lives in Montana, where with his wife, Cara, and daughter, Jenny, he runs Anduril Kennels. They raise Alaskan Huskies and Belgian Sheepdogs. They also run a boarding kennel and teach dog training classes. They do many public appearances to promote responsible dog owners and the sport of mushing. He began mushing in 1987 and says his greatest honors have been the two awards he received, the “Best Cared for Team” in the 2003 Race to the Sky and the “Sportsmanship Award” in the 1998 Beargrease. He says that after he ran his first sled dog race, he started dreaming about doing the Iditarod. He tried in 2000 and scratched in Galena. Robert belongs to the Montana Sleddog Inc. Board of Directors and Mush with P.R.I.D.E. He lists his occupation as husband, father, dog trainer and owner of boarding kennel. He says his special interests are training dogs for sledding, obedience and agility and hunting and fishing.
