Matt Weik, 33, was born and raised in Minnesota. He, along with his wife, Sara and eight-year-old son, Josey, own and operate North Star Kennels. They pride themselves in their mission to promote passion for the sport of sled dog racing and the care of their canine athletes. The Weik family has raced all over the mid-west and has competed in the Can Am Crown and the Wyoming Stage Race. Matt says, “I look forward to the wonderful excitement and hospitality Alaska has to offer!. A landscape contractor for four years, he is a member of Mush with PRIDE and says he loves to race mountain bikes, to walleye fish and spend time with his family.
