Dalton Fiedler, 25, was born in Montana and moved with his family to Alaska when he was 10. He began mushing in 1992 and says, “I always dreamed of running the Iditarod.” He ran the Jr. Iditarod four times and signed up for the Iditarod once but broke his leg in a snowmobile accident just days before the race. Dalton has been an operational manager for the last seven years. He says he owes his father, Linwood, also an Iditarod musher, for teaching him to mush dogs and that over the years, the dogs have led father and son to many great adventures. He’s been waiting since he was 12 to finish the Iditarod and says that running this year with his dad is a long awaited dream come true. Dalton and Sarah are the parents of two daughters, Emma, 5 and infant Brea.
