I was raised in Grant and Ellsworth, Michigan, on the family farm. My dad and grandpa instilled a love of animals, good caretaking and a hard work ethic at a young age. After graduating college in 2001 I moved to Alaska and went on every outdoor adventure I could: hunting, fishing, mountain running, hiking, rafting and exploring all that Alaska has to offer.

In 2020, along with my wife Casey and our two children, AddieAnn and Thale, we started our own sled dog kennel, Rock On Racing. We call our dogs Rock Stars because that’s exactly what they are! I love running and training dogs with my family and supporting them in their races and going on adventures with the dogs together. I am excited to see new parts of our state with 16 of my furry, four legged family members.
