Biography
Adam Lindenmuth, 33, (Rookie) was born in Portland, OR and is married to Meri Franklin. He operates Sojourn Kennels in Willow, Alaska, where he cares for 26 dogs and works as an Innkeeper. Among the many races Adam has completed are the Copper Basin 300, Quest 300, T-Dog 200, Two Rivers 200, Knik 200, and Goosebay 150. Adam says, “after working as an engineer, I wanted to get back into guiding. I found a kennel that was hiring and figured I’d see what it was all about. I fell in love with it and never looked back.” Adam’s mentors have been Matt Hall, Joanna and Joe Weber, and Jessie Holmes, “who have all been wonderful with answering my endless stream of questions.” He acquired two veteran females from Holmes that became the mothers of his entire team. For Adam, running his first Iditarod is about “seeing a far off horizon and knowing the dogs and I are heading there. Then looking back and seeing how far we’ve come.” An avid hiker, Adam has conquered the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide, and Arizona Trails. He loves video games and fantasy books–and says if he’s on a sled, he’s listening to an audiobook.
