Nome, Alaska – Sunday, March 11, 2012 – Rookie Iditarod musher Pat Moon (Bib# 15) of Chicago, Illinois scratched in Ruby at 16:12 Alaska Time. Moon made the decision to scratch because he was down to a small number of dogs to continue. He had 7 dogs on his team when he made the decision.
