Veteran musher Jessie Holmes (bib #15 ), originally from Odenville, Alabama, was the first musher to reach the White Mountain checkpoint on Thursday, March 13 at 8:39 a.m.. with 11 dogs, earning him the Northrim Bank Achieve More Award.
Northrim Bank’s award was first given out in 2018. Holmes will receive a $2,500 check and a special trophy that resides at Iditarod headquarters year-round.
Our award continues to recognize the teamwork and dedication of the teams and their efforts to “Achieve More” during the race. As a homegrown bank deeply rooted in Alaska, we understand the resilience required to conquer both the challenges of the Last Frontier and the rugged Iditarod trail. We congratulate Jessoe on his accomplishment of being the first musher into White Mountain and look forward to presenting the Achieve More award at the finishers banquet in Nome,” said President Mike Huston.
The Northrim Bank Achieve More Award will be presented to Holmes at the finishers banquet in Nome on March 16, 2025.
