Aaron came and went. I snowmachined out the YUkon River to meet him. Its gloomy and warm out there, actually light rain. Opportunity is where luck meets preparedness, it was no surprise to see Aaron wear a rain coat. He has been here before. He has done his homework.
Little Moss is still leading the team. The little 4 year old dogs has been on the Iditarod Trail now 3 times, back in 2011 I did the same run as Aaron is doing now and ran all the way to Grayling. At the time I was not too happy with ” the move “. I felt I gave time away with resting , but same as Aaron now, I wanted to get on a a better daytime schedule. In a warm race as this, that might be even more important. Aaron should be able to ” shut it down ” at about 11 a.m. and comfortably rest till at least 3 p.m.
Here a few pictures of his team. What do you think? Are they happy or not?
And here a few more from Aaron coming into town and the Yukon River
