The players on the way to the Coast!!!

While we got some rest in a very nicely set up Unalakleet Checkpoint, the mushers have been battling through the night. On a fast trail, this can be a 10 hr run. But it is not a fast trail. The first part was very chewed up by big paddle track machines and than past old woman cabin, the trail was pretty darn windblown.

Dee Dee is hanging on to a top 10

Jake is currently resting at Old Woman. I thought he would make more of a statement going to the coast, with 15 dogs he could have done so.

Joar running a very solid race. He is at Old woman with Jake. Amazing performance for a Rookie. 

Martin Buser has lost his lead. But this photo shows what he had to contend with on the Yukon. He is still hanging tough  south within range. Also parked at Old woman right now

Mitch did a huge surge to the coast. He is battling it out with Aaron for the gold coast award

Aliy Zirkle, has done a total 8 hrs of stops within 30 some miles, both not in a checkpoint. She has fallen behind a bit

Dallas has surged in from behind. This is a picture for 2012Jeff has also appeared in the mix, after being 12 hours off pace in Iditarod. Never count this wise man out

Jessie Royer, has been right there. She dropped 3 dogs in Kaltag. Down to 9. But she is VERY comfortable driving a small team, matter of fact, she prefers it. She ran be down in 2007 with 8 dogs!
