Veteran Iditarod musher Robert Redington (bib #28) of Willow, Alaska, scratched at 8:30 p.m. today at the Elim checkpoint. 

Redington made the decision to scratch in the best interest of his race team. Redington had eight dogs in harness at the time he made the decision to scratch.
