The Iditarod Community morns the loss of one of it’s founding fathers, Howard Farley, who passed away over the weekend at 91 years old. “Howard was abolsutely an icon within the Iditarod. Even today, he was truly a history buff, and being a competitor and being from Nome, he will be dearly missed by all of us,” says Iditarod’s Race Director, Mark Nordman. Our condolences to Howard’s family, friends, colleagues and those in the mushing community whose lives he has touched since the first ever Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race®.
Happy Trails, Howard, you will be missed beyond belief, but your legacy will remain on the trail and within the hearts of Iditarod Nation.
