Rookie Iditarod musher, Sean Williams (bib #27), of Chugiak, Alaska left the Elim checkpoint en route to White Mountain at 10:57 p.m. on Wednesday of March 13.  Iditarod Race Officials had been in contact with Williams after sufficient progress on the trail was not made.  

After much deliberation, Williams made the decision to scratch today, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the best interest of his team.

Williams had 10 dogs in harness at the time of his scratch, all in good health.
