“The Iditarod Trail Committee is deeply saddened with the loss and tragedy which has befallen those affected by the Sockeye Fire. The Sockeye Fire area is primarily in the town of Willow, the epicenter of dog mushing here in the State of Alaska.

A fund has been set up which will directly support the Willow Dog Mushers Association which is actively working to help those dog mushers most affected by the fire. If you are looking for a way to support the mushers and their dogs the Iditarod Trail Committee recommends our race fans contribute to this fund raiser.
