Iditarod off to a smooth start. Currently we are sitting right at Desha landing, seeing the mushers „ dropping down „. The first 3 teams have passed, Martin Buser , Scott Janssen and Jodi Baily. Of course weh ad to stop at Camp Flamingo and a few miles later at Camp Mackey, gretted by the happy face of Dick Mackey, waiting for „ his boys „ to come by. Cheering fans line miles of trail. Airplanes are buzzing, Helicopters are hovering, as the weather is ideal to see all the mushers off to their 1000 Mile Nome bound journey, Lance just came by and all for sudden tbere was the sound of Christmas bells, when Ken Andersen approached the hill. What ist hat all about. He sure will not fall to sleeping with that sound! Jingle bells, jingle bells down the Yentna River weg go.
Ha first glitch already with the snowmachine. No power on the power outlet. Strange enough on both machines.
